House with front porch by Assembledge+

Another such area is the full-length front porch that is reminiscent of the surrounding neighborhood craftsman homes. The cedar siding, smooth white plaster, and colored MDO panels provide a material palette to complement the refined forms and crisp geometries. One more thing is the full height sliding glass wall at the rear yard allows the house to be completely opened up providing little distinction between indoor and outdoor. The Ridgewood Residence is designed by Assembledge+ to take the full advantage of the Southern California climate. The luxury and minimalist living space provides a great indoor/outdoor connection with series of areas. One of such areas is a glass-cornered living room which not only gives a possibility to enjoy great views of surroundings but also gives the occupant a feeling of being outside.

The house also took its inspiration from Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang. its color theme is black and white. Besides, the house is designed with many green features, including white standing seam roof/wall for solar gain diffusion, motorized with wind and rain sensors, west facing windows and scoop skylights to catch ocean breezes & a large east facing skylight over the 29 ft entry to vent rising hot air. The ground floor and raised ground floor are solar water radiant heated. Who said that very modern house design should be minimalist? Skywave House by Coscia Day shows that isn’t exactly true. The 2,250 square feet house and is set on a 40 ft wide suburban lot in Venice, California. It’s main distinctive feature is a sculptural roof that reminds a breaking wave, which is suspended in time and space and floats over a 1st floor garden space surrounded by glass.

The house’s exterior is clad in textured wood panels and consists of a many large windows. The shape of the house and its interior design make it look contemporary and clean. The yard features a large swimming pool so owners could come back from a vacation with a perfect tan. The Cutler Residence is designed by Murdock Young Architects with a minimal impact on the pristine landscape. A year round vacation home features amazing views of surroundings which are very calm and relaxing. It’s perched on a bluff overlooking Block Island Sound so these views mostly features waters of the Atlantic Ocean and woods.

Two insulated masonry walls define the enclosure east and west with floor to ceiling glass at the north and south facing rooms. A large canopy cantilevers out to the south to shade the interior from the harsh desert sun while establishing an edge for the southern courtyard. Inside the house is designed as a loft. Among green features of the design are the passive solar water heating and the rainwater collecting. The 007 House is designed by Rob Paulus Architects for a single guy in his mid 30′s. It’s a modern bachelor pad set on the edge of an older neighborhood near the University of Arizona. The house is designed for an indoor, outdoor living on a small site and within a tight budget. It went vertical and down below grade to maximize the use of the site.

The majority of interior walls where removed or relocated; allowing the living, kitchen, and dining area to be one fluid space. A fourteen foot wide sliding glass door pockets out of site, extending the space outside to a revamped back yard and swimming pool. This outdoor living area becomes the focal point of the new design, while making the modest size of the interior feel more expansive. A bedroom, a bathroom, and the one car garage are the only rooms that keep their original location. The p_House is designed by Ras-a and located in Redondo Beach, a greater Los Angeles area beach city. It’s a renovation of a small post war house into a modern living and working home for a young couple. Due to budget constraints as well as environmental regard, the original house was recycled as much as possible.

The property has three buildings, including: the main house, the guest house and the staff quarters. The main building is 16,000 square feet and has two stories with 6 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. It has the direct access to an outdoor heated lap pool and spa, and features truly amazing views of the Bay. There are plenty of other cool interior and exterior design features that you can find on photos. La Gorge Estate was a 1926, Mediterranean-style estate built for Carl Fisher and lately remodeled by Touzet Studio into the modern contemporary home. It’s located on a private island in Miami Beach, Florida, overlooking Biscayne Bay. Such style of architecture isn’t popular in the area but this isn’t the only thing that make the luxury villa special.

There are three floors in the house: the basement, the ground floor and the second floor. The garage and service spaces are in the basement, while the most public spaces (lounge, dining room, living room …) are in the first floor. Bedrooms and more private rooms are in the high floor. Besides truly amazing landcape there are a 80 square meter spectacular swimming pool near the house. The finished project is a great example of luxury that comes hand by hand with minimalism. 19 Housing (Vivienda 19) is one of the latest works by A-Cero, an architecture studio that designs truly amazing contemporary houses, located near Madrid, Spain. The house’s front is made of marble travertino and there are many windows in it. In addition to simple shapes and straight lines that make the 1,600 square meter (17,000 sq ft) structure looks light and simple.
